History of Pelican Cove Inn
In 1985, Bob and Celeste Hale, remodeled the property located at 320 Walnut Avenue in Carlsbad California and created a four room Inn and named it The Pelican Cove Inn. In 1990, they purchased the property adjoining the Pelican Cove Inn property to the east. The two buildings were adjoined and four more guest rooms, a conference room and Innkeepers quarters were added. This created the current layout of the Pelican Cove Inn.
In 1994, Kris and Nancy Nayudu, moved down to Carlsbad California from Juneau Alaska and purchased the Pelican Cove Inn. The Nayudus were brought to this area for Kris’ employment and this was a way that Nancy could stay home with the couple’s two children who were 3 and 5 at the time. Fast forward and here we are today. Enjoying the beauty of the Southern California Coast in the quaint Village of Carlsbad California.
We built a house for us next to the Inn in 2003 and converted the area where we had lived (the Innkeepers quarters and the conference room) into two additional guest rooms. We now have 10 guest rooms. In the years that we have owned and operated the Pelican Cove Inn, we have thoroughly enjoyed our guests and the joy of sharing all there is to do and see in Carlsbad California and the surrounding area. Many friendships have been forged and so many have watched our children grow. We look forward to many more years here at Pelican Cove Inn.
