
Decadent French Toast
Ingredients
- 4 medium croissants baked
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cup maple syrup divided
- 10 eggs
- 3 cups half and half
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- powdered sugar
- chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
Instructions

Tear up croissants into a greased 13 X 9 inch casserole dish. Mix cream cheese, butter and 1/4 cup maple syrup until smooth. Spread evenly over croissants. In a large bowl beat eggs, 1/2 cup maple syrup, and half and half. Pour over croissants. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, remove from the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 350. Bake covered for 30 minutes then uncovered for 30 more or until golden.

In a small sauce pan heat the following 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup maple syrup and pour over warm souffle. Sprinkle with chopped pecans before serving. Enjoy!!
Nancy, we really enjoyed this dish! Does it freeze well? Would you recommend baking it directly from the freezer?
I have never tried freezing this. I think I would thaw it before I cooked it. Sorry I didn't see this prior to now!!! I am just seeing where the comments are!! Haha!
